  1. Accreditation of Theological Institutions
    • NICTSCE evaluates and accredits Bible colleges, seminaries, and theological training centers, ensuring they meet national and international academic and doctrinal benchmarks.
  2. Curriculum Development and Standardization
    • The council sets minimum academic standards for theological education in Nigeria, ensuring uniformity and consistency in training programs.
    • It promotes contextual theological education that aligns with both biblical principles and the Nigerian socio-cultural context.
  3. Faculty and Institutional Development
    • NICTSCE organizes workshops, seminars, and training to enhance the competence of theological educators.
    • It ensures that faculty members in accredited institutions hold relevant qualifications and demonstrate excellence in teaching and research.
  4. Quality Control and Periodic Evaluation
    • The council conducts regular inspections and assessments of accredited institutions to ensure compliance with its academic and ethical standards.
    • Institutions failing to meet the required standards may face probation, re-evaluation, or withdrawal of accreditation.
  5. Partnerships and International Recognition
    • NICTSCE fosters collaborations with global theological councils, universities, and Christian education bodies, enhancing international recognition for its accredited institutions.
    • It ensures that Nigerian theological degrees and diplomas are globally respected and accepted.
  6. Ethical and Doctrinal Integrity
    • The council upholds sound Christian doctrine in theological training, safeguarding against heretical teachings and maintaining biblical orthodoxy.
    • It promotes ministerial ethics and leadership development, ensuring that graduates exhibit Christ-like character and competence.
